Dear Readers, I have decided to make Friday work-out-brag-day. Partly because with my marathon vastly approaching I need to hold myself accountable for actually training and partly because I feel good about the fact that I ran 10 miles yesterday. (Just being honest!) I did it in 1:40 even though I walked half of mile seven. I also did a 3-mile run earlier this week and a 6-miler last week. Still not as hardcore as I should be, but I’m getting there. I’m hoping to get a good run in on Sunday too. Love, Hardcore Kens
Dear Ziggy, You are just the cutest. I love that you buried one of the Easter eggs in the backyard (we searched for it for SO long last Sunday too) just to dig it up and chow down on it the other morning. I’m guessing it tastes better once it’s nice and stinky from basking in the sun for several days. Love, Yo Mama
WIWW & Thoughts
I know I’ll feel normal again eventually, but for now I’ll just try to embrace my manic episodes and ignore the bouts of crazed, emotional blah-ness. And I’ll take more pictures..

Music Monday
Today I want to let you all in on a little secret. You might have suspected it, but I’m here to confirm your suspicions. It’s true.. I am sort of a teeny bopper fangirl at heart. Sure, I mostly post my latest indie, alternative or classic rock favorites on here (rock is, after all, my favorite genre), but I’d be lying if I told you I didn’t know every single song on the Pop Charts at any given day from the mid 90’s to today. I pride myself on being a very eclectic music lover. I really hate commercials and really love songs, so this comes in very handy on road trips (especially since Betty the Blazer’s CD player has been broken for years now). All I have to do is hit ‘seek’ a few times and I’m singing along and not hearing about the miracles of laser hair removal. This is not to say there aren’t songs that within a nanosecond of hearing the intro force me to hit seek again immediately (*cough* Bruno Mars *cough*) but it still comes in pretty handy. That said, today I want to share some of the most shamefully catchy, super fun, make-me-want-to-jump-on-my-bed-and-sing-into-my-hair-brush kind of songs that I love. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do. (I’m including the music videos because they sometimes make up 80% of why I love the song.. sometimes.)
So I hope we’ve all learned a lesson about enjoying music that we’re not necessarily proud of people seeing in our music libraries, and I also hope you’re not all judging me too harshly. Just embrace the teeny bopped inside of you. Happy Music Monday! 😉
Take Me Home Tonight!
This weekend has been pretty awesome, guys. Friday night I went to Gainesville to hang out with this pretty lady and some other excellent people as well. I even ended the night racing people home from the bar (I’m still sore..).
Then Saturday I got to spend some quality time with my big sis, Britni, when we went to go see EDDIE MONEY in concert!
It was really fun. Not only did we end up knowing way more songs than we thought we would, but we also got to do some pretty hilarious people watching. I don’t know about you guys, but I love watching old people let loose and party — especially the country folk that show up in Ocala ready to get their drank on, suspenders and all. My boy, Eddie, sang his version of this song that I posted on Facebook the other day:
So I was pretty excited about that, but not as excited as I was when I heard “Two Tickets To Paradise!!!”
And now for my very weak March Fitness roundup (don’t judge me, I definitely exercised my liver and ability to still party even while ridiculously sick!):
March 1: 3.31 miles
March 4: 3.15 miles
March 7: 6.83 miles
March 15: 3.68 miles
March 30: 4.01 miles
Like I said before, April will be much better. I don’t even think I stepped foot in the gym this entire month — aka a wasted $10 at Planet Fitness. I will definitely run more than 6.8 as my long run (hopefully every week!). I should be able to run about 16-18 miles at this point, and yet so far my longest run has been 12. So it’s time to quit the excuses (and happy hours) and get my butt back in shape. Seattle Rock ‘n Roll Marathon, here I come!!!
